That separation matters because a single percentage rarely tells the whole story. A Gear item can have a contain chance inside a named boss or monster box, while a stage supplies that box at its own rate. The tool preserves both numbers instead of presenting an unexplained drop rate.     Use chest opens when you already own the named box and want the contain probability. Use stage clears when the selected source lists a stage route, because the per-clear result combines the stage box chance with the item contain chance.     Per chest answers how often the item appears after that box is opened. Expected opens is the long-run reciprocal of the published contain chance. Box chance describes the stage-to-box step. A player can still succeed on the first clear or go far beyond the displayed average because random outcomes do not become guaranteed at that number.

Long Sword (Legendary) lists Stage Boss Box 4 with a Base contain chance of 0.2363%. Its published routes are A1-1, A1-2, and A1-3 on Normal, each with a 100% stage box chance. The per-clear Base probability is therefore also 0.2363%. The reciprocal is about 423.2 clears as a long-run expected value, not a guaranteed reward at clear 424.

Across 100 independent clears, the probability of at least one copy is about 21.07%. Across 500 clears, it rises to about 69.36%. Shadow Bow (Arcana) lists a Stage Boss Box Lv80 Base contain chance of 0.0066% and Torment stage routes with an 8% box chance. Multiplying the two gives a 0.000528% per-clear probability. At 1,000 independent clears, the chance of at least one copy is about 0.527%, showing how two modest-looking percentages can produce a very small final loot probability.

The same item lists Normal Monster Box Lv80 at a 0.0066% Base contain chance, but its published stage chance is 0.8%. That route becomes 0.0000528% per clear, ten times lower than the 8% boss-box route before clear speed is considered.
